oceanteam yard visit during transpooling

Oceanteam visit

Last week, Oceanteam had the pleasure of welcoming the Combifloat team at the yard facilities in Velsen, near Amsterdam. We spent the morning on the yard, discussing the carousel modifications that are currently happening for our next upcoming project and discussed on new innovative engineering ideas. The carousels are optimized to suit vessels with a hull width of <17.5m, offering a very economical transport solution.

At the same time, a transpooling operation was ongoing from our temporary storage to a vessel. Transpooling refers to the process of transferring a flexible product, such as cables and umbilicals, from carousel to another. In this case from our 4000t onshore carousel to two 2500t / 15.6m diameter carousels on board the Multi Purpose Product (MPP) vessel.

Enough action going! And to finish it off, we enjoyed a delightful lunch together.

It’s always inspiring to see what we can achieve when we come together. Here’s to more collaborative days together!

Looking back at a successful Offshore Energy Exhibition

Combifloat and Oceanteam Cable Solutions were exhibiting at Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference in the Amsterdam RAI last month. This yearly event provided an excellent venue for networking with partners and friends from the industry.  The OEEC provided one of the first venues to present our entities together. The updated corporate identity for Oceanteam was introduced and received well. The group will also be present again in 2024.

About the exhibition

“OEEC serves as an essential gathering point for professionals, experts and companies active in the offshore energy sector and beyond. Covering a diverse spectrum, which includes offshore wind, hydrogen, oil & gas and marine energy. OEEC offers a platform for these industry stakeholders to come together, ignite innovation and shape the future of the energy transition.”

OCS acquires additional offshore carousel

Oceanteam Cable Solutions (OCS) has recently acquired an additional offshore carousel thereby steadily increasing its capabilities. The carousel currently has 5500t capacity, with the potential to further increase and is being prepared for deployment. Its modularity and dimensions make it suitable for economic deployment globally in the renewables and oil and gas umbilicals market.

This increases OCS’s carousel fleet to 30,000t capacity, supplemented with all required secondary equipment to provide multiple transport spreads simultaneously.

“Given the multiple contract awards in our first half year since the acquisition of OCS as well as specific clients requests, we are pleased to execute the first acquisition of a carousel.” Says Jaap Jan Pietersen, MD of the Combifloat Group.

OCS Umbilical Transport

Umbilicals enroute!

Our team recently achieved a major milestone by successfully loading umbilicals using Oceanteam Cable Solutions equipment spread. The equipment spread used for this operation included a 4000t carousel, extended umbilical loading tower, 10t track tensioner, and three unit hydraulic packs (HPU).

The operation was executed in a fast-track manner, with minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. We are proud of our team for delivering this exceptional result and demonstrating our capabilities in the offshore industry.
