New Managing Director Oceanteam Cable Solutions

Combifloat is pleased to announce that Willem van Swinderen will join our team as Managing Director Oceanteam Cable Solutions (OCS). Willem has built a large network through his various roles in the offshore and marine industry. Through his experience and strong commercial focus he will be well placed to developed the go-to-market strategy of OCS. Most recently Willem has been with SAL Heavy Lift bringing valuable transport knowledge along.

Oceanteam Solutions currently owns six carousels and ancillary equipment and has its deep-water port and offshore base in Velsen-Noord, the Netherlands.

Oceanteam Solutions has the equipment and project experience to manage projects that involve operational complexity both in the mature North Sea market as well as in new emerging offshore wind markets in North America, the Middle East and the Far East.

Creative use of a C7 SEP

Early this year Combifloat deployed one of its C-7 series Self Elevating Platforms (SEP) on a job in Vlissingen-Oost in The Netherlands.

Not very often we see our platforms at work this close to home! This C-7’ SEP, a 36x21m platform, was specially modified with an ‘overhang’ which allowed DEME to perform maintenance and installation works at the bottom side of one of its own Offshore vessels/Jackups. The unit is currently being prepared for mobilization for deployment on a LNG project.

POSEIDON BARGE LTD AND COMBIFLOAT JOIN HANDS TO SUPPLY MODULAR JACK UP BARGES TO NORTH AMERICA MARKETS

Las Vegas, 15 March 2023 – Poseidon and Combifloat have entered into a cooperation agreement to supply modular jack up barges to North America markets. The alliance combines Poseidon’s second to none barge designs and facilities with Combifloat’s jack up expertise resulting in the best possible proposition for the American market. A new benchmark, in accordance with the Jones Act and USA Made policies, will be set.

Poseidon is known for providing the most extended portfolio of versatile and innovative portable sectional barges in North America typically supplying Bridge, Marine & Dredge Construction Projects. The recently upgraded fabrication facilities in Berne, IN are world class. Notably, Poseidon is the first domestic sectional barge company to obtain ISO Certification 9001:2015.

Combifloat is specialized in modular jack up barges with a focus on projects that are nearshore, in lakes or around inland water environments the world over. With deep knowledge on jacking systems and their demanding operating environments, Combifloat is able to provide safe and efficient stable working platforms.

Poseidon’s sectional design makes them versatile and easy to deploy. The system is fully automated and amongst the most rapid elevating in their category.

Combifloat enters the offshore cable market

Rotterdam, 11 January 2023 – Combifloat recently concluded the acquisition of Oceanteam Solutions, creating an entry into the offshore cable handling and logistics solutions market. This acquisition enables Combifloat to further enhance its portfolio with an additional brand, offering a broader set of equipment and services dedicated to the offshore renewable and subsea oil & gas market.

New barge deployed in the Alps

Combifloat successfully manufactured and delivered a C-5 modular floating barge of 24m x 12m to Eberhard in Switzerland. The barge’s configuration existed of a variety of Duo Floats and Quadra Floats as well as End Rakes, making the barge ideally suitable to operate as an excavator barge in Dach, Switzerland.
