Bull rail
Connected to the hull
#pilingframe #coupling
Combifloat uses a male/female pin connection system to couple modular components—including bull rails—to the hull of its jack-up barges. This system is designed for strength, simplicity, and repeatability. The picture features a C9. The bull rails, which serve as guiding and securing structures for equipment or personnel access, are mounted onto the deck or hull modules using pre-engineered pin interfaces. These interfaces allow for quick alignment and locking, ensuring that the bull rails remain securely attached even under dynamic loads from crane operations, wave action, or personnel movement.
The coupling system is part of a broader modular philosophy that enables Combifloat platforms—like the C-9 series—to be assembled and reconfigured based on project needs.
The pin connections are engineered to handle high loads and are supported by hydraulic jacking systems and spudwells that stabilize the platform. This ensures that once the bull rails are connected, they remain rigid and safe throughout the operation.
