C-724 Involved in Drilling Operations

A Heavy Load Case

A Heavy Load
Challenge

Combifloat’s C-724 modular self-elevating platform is supporting drilling operations offshore Senegal, close to Dakar. The platform has been configured with a Manitowoc 2250 crane and a Berminghammer BRC75 pile handling system, creating a demanding load case that required detailed engineering verification.

Prior to mobilization, Combifloat’s engineering team carried out a comprehensive assessment of the platform’s stability, structural integrity, payload capacity, and operational performance under the anticipated working conditions. The configuration was carefully reviewed to ensure safe and efficient operation while accommodating the significant loads imposed by both the crane and drilling equipment.

By combining modular jack-up technology with thorough engineering analysis, the C-724 provides a stable working platform capable of supporting heavy-duty offshore drilling activities in challenging marine environments. This project demonstrates Combifloat’s ability to tailor modular self-elevating solutions to specific client requirements while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational reliability.

Road-transportable deployment

The modular components were transported by road and assembled on site, enabling heavy cable installation in a remote inland location.

High deck load capacity

The C-7 provides a compact but stable working platform for the equipment while handling significant (point) loads. Combifloat’s pontoons have the highest deckload amongst its peers. (20 t/m2)

Proven
Performance & Compliance

The Combifloat pontoons offer full customization and can be equipped with many attachments and accessories specifically needed to successfully execute projects. The C-5 series are often used for geotechnical services and inland marine construction works and offer a 15 T/m2 deck strength just like the C-7 and C-9.5 series. All C-5 series components are fully IACS compliant and delivered with individual test certificates.
