Drill slot
with cover
#versatile #remote
A drill slot with a cover on Combifloat pontoons is a structural feature designed to support drilling operations while maintaining deck integrity and safety when the slot is not in use.
Purpose and Function
The drill slot is typically a longitudinal opening integrated into the pontoon deck, allowing drilling equipment to access the water or seabed directly below the platform. These slots are often 500mm wide and can be included in one or more floats depending on the configuration.
When not in use, the slot is covered to:
- Prevent debris or personnel from falling through
- Maintain a flat working surface
- Protect the structural integrity of the pontoon
