If you are in need of technical or operations support our Project Engineers will be there to assist you.
Combifloat has a wide network of freelance jacking engineers, sometimes called barge engineers or operators, will support our clients throughout the project on a day to day basis. These specialists are available for jacking and positioning services as well as to perform the daily maintenance routines.
What is the role of a jacking engineer?
At Combifloat, the roles of the jacking engineer and barge master refer to the same, highly skilled position. This individual is responsible for the overall management, safety, and operation of the self-elevating platform. They oversee navigation, positioning, stability, and the coordination of all activities on board the platform. This includes managing the crew, overseeing mooring and ballast operations, and ensuring that the platform is correctly positioned during operations.
In addition to these responsibilities, the jacking engineer/barge master operates and maintains the jacking equipment, which is used to elevate the platform above the water surface. They monitor the jacking process, ensuring that the legs of the platform are properly positioned on the seabed including pre-loading, and adjust the platform’s height as needed to maintain stability and safety.
Regular inspections and maintenance of the jacking system are also part of their duties to prevent mechanical failures and ensure optimal performance during operations. This role requires a deep understanding of the platform’s design and operational procedures, as well as the ability to respond effectively to any emergencies that may arise.
Combifloat can train Client’s personnel to operate the Combifloat series jacking system
The Combifloat pontoons offer full customization and can be equipped with many attachments and accessories specifically needed to successfully execute projects.
