Durable, modular barges for marine projects
Combifloat’s floating barge solutions are designed to provide unparalleled durability, versatility and efficiency for a wide range of marine projects. They are simply the strongest modular barges around.
Our modular design allows for easy assembly, customization, and transportation, making our floating barges a preferred choice for contractors worldwide.
Combifloat’s floating barges are often compared to LEGO© due to their modular design. The standardized steel pontoons can be easily transported and assembled to form different shapes and configurations, much like the famous blocks. This modularity ensures that the barges can be tailored to meet specific project requirements, providing a flexible and efficient solution for various marine applications.
Combifloat Coupling System
The coupling system used by Combifloat is made of high-strength, low-alloy steel, designed to be simple, quick, and rigid, ensuring a secure and safe connection between the pontoons. The positive locking mechanism does not require loose pins, bolts, or other parts, making the assembly process straightforward and reducing the risk of losing components. Moreover, the coupling operation is performed above deck with no compromise to safety and avoiding any confined space entry.
The loadcase and scope of a project are intrinsically linked to the hull height and dimensions of the Combifloat type to ensure stability and regulatory compliance.
The hull height and dimensions are carefully matched to accommodate the specific loadcase, which includes the weight and distribution of equipment, materials, and personnel on the platform. By aligning the hull height and the total area with the loadcase, Combifloat ensures that the platform maintains optimal stability, even under varying operational conditions.
Additionally, the dimensions of the hull are tailored to meet regulatory requirements, ensuring that the platform complies with international safety and performance standards. This engineering approach guarantees that the platform can safely and efficiently handle the specified loadcase, providing a reliable solution for marine construction projects.
A holding spud barge is a specialized type of barge used primarily in marine construction and maintenance projects. It is equipped with vertical steel shafts, known as spuds, which are lowered on the seabed to anchor the barge securely in place. This anchoring system provides a stable and stationary platform, essential for operations that require precision and stability, such as crane work, pile driving, and dredging.
A bearing spud barge is a specialized type of barge used primarily in marine construction and maintenance projects. It is equipped with vertical steel shafts, known as spuds, which are actively by hydraulic force driven into the seabed to anchor the barge securely in place. This anchoring system provides a stable and stationary platform, essential for operations that require precision and stability, such as crane work, pile driving, and dredging.
The Combifloat hopper barge is a modular floating barge engineered for efficient material transport and marine construction. Its robust design allows for safe loading, sea-fastening, and integration with other pontoons in a floating barge or holding spud barge.
Ideal for dredging, storage, or offshore works, it combines flexibility with heavy-duty performance
With highly qualified and specialized in-house engineers, Combifloat offers various engineering services to guide and support clients on operational and environmental matters.
